Slavie Federal in the Community: the Overlea/Fullerton Business Professional Development
The Overlea/Fullerton Business Professional Development organization's mission is to bring businesses and the community together. The organization plans events, such as the Overlea Fullerton Merchant Fair, and hosts fundraising events for causes such as the Optimist Club of Hamilton's Children Cancer Campaign, and for groups such as the Family Crisis Center of Baltimore County, Inc., which shelters 200 women and 350 children each year.
Patricia Zimmerman, Branch Manager for the Overlea Branch of Slavie Federal, is Vice-President of the Board of Directors of the Overlea/Fullerton Business Professional Development.
The Overlea/Fullerton Business Professional Development organization is currently working on a project to revitalize the Belair Road business section of the county side of the neighborhood. Local businesses can take advantage of special loans to improve their storefronts. Architects meet with shop owners and offer pro bono advice and design ideas to increase the value of their property and beautify the neighborhood.
As members of the Overlea/Fullerton Business Professional Development organization, Slavie Federal Savings Bank's branch offices are drop off stations for the collection of school supplies and winter clothing for needy school age children.
