Slavie Federal Wins the 2005 Harford Award
The Harford County Chamber of Commerce 2005 Harford Award Program was held on September 28, 2005, at the Richlin Ballroom in Abingdon, with over 350 Chamber members and guests
in attendance.
The winners of the prestigious 2005 Harford Award were: Slavie Federal Savings Bank, Blue Dot of Maryland, Home
Partnership, Inc., Sephora Central Distribution Center and Smiths Detection. Each organization represents
the best in each of the following business categories: Retail, Service, NonProfit, Industrial, and Technology. Slavie Federal won in the 2005 Retail category.
Co-sponsored by the
Harford County Government Office of Economic Development, Harford Community College and the Harford County Chamber of
Commerce, the 2005 event continued the outstanding success of the past six years.
In awarding the Retail Award to Slavie Federal Savings Bank, Chamber President William Seccurro said:
"After operating in Baltimore City for over 101 years, Slavie Federal Savings Bank moved it Corporate Headquarters to Bel Air, Maryland. Slavie added two branch offices, one in Bel Air and the other in Edgewood in the Fall of
2001. Slavie Federal Savings Bank is a federally chartered stock savings bank with assets of $160,433,399.00. From November 2001
until December 2004, Slavie has grown from $99,197,566.00 to its current base a $61,235,833.00 or 61% growth. The Bank has also
experienced growth in its deposit size by 28.89% with an increase in total revenues of 11.87%.
"Slavie Federal Savings Bank's motto of 'Strengthening Communities and Serving Neighbors' is more than words. It serves to guide the
action of each Bank Officer and Branch Manager, as many are involved with or on the board of several community-based organizations
and contribute countless volunteer hours helping the less fortunate members of the community. Slavie's new headquarters was
designed with a Community Room which has an outside entrance for easy access during the day or evenings. Many community and
non-profit organizations use this facility at no charge.

Accepting the 2005 Harford Award on behalf of Slavie Federal Savings Bank was Philip E. Logan, President and Chairman.
